Am I giving up my independence?

Our clinical staff is trained to encourage independence, allow choices, provide decision making power, and to involve the client and client’s family in the plan of care. The client is also encouraged to safely participate in the household activities as much as they would like.

Can an extended hospital stay have a negative effect on me?

According to extensively researched articles, published by several doctors. There is evidence to support an association between hospital length of stay and a decline in cognition, as well as other factors such as delirium (agitation, disorientation, confusion), stress, depression, increase risk of infection, medication interactions, and functional decline. These studies where performed over several years, with the focus group being individuals over the age of 65 years old, with a critical and non-critical hospital stay.

I am afraid to have a stranger in my house?

The agency’s staff is put through a rigorous hiring process. All applicants receive a criminal background check, and previous employment  screening through the New York State Department of Health.

How do I know what services I need?

So, your doctor and the Registered Nurse assigned to your case will work with you to develop an individualized plan of care tailored to your needs.

Am I abandoning my parent?

The family is encouraged to be involved in the client’s plan of care, and the client’s everyday activities.
